Car crash in PA results in mother and daughter’s deaths

Posted on Monday, December 2nd, 2013 at 10:07 pm

A mother and her child were killed while her husband was seriously injured after their horse-drawn Amish buggy was hit by a speeding truck in Pennsylvania on December 2, police said.

34-year-old Mary Byler and her 11-year old daughter were pronounced dead immediately after being hit by a speeding truck being driven by the 36-year-old Matthew Coulter. Mary’s husband, William Byler, was rushed to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Ohio after sustaining serious injuries.

The incident is still being investigated by the PA state police; however, they believe Coulter was speeding when the fatal incident happened.
