The Lancaster New Era reported Ford is recalling approximately 435,000 cars and SUVs as a result of rusting frame parts or faulty seats. The largest of the two recalls announced covers approximately 386,000 Ford Escapes for model years 2001 through 2004. According to Ford, the sub frames can rust, which may allow a control arm to separate and interfere with steering.
The other recall covers 2013 to 2014 Ford Fusions, Lincoln MKZ, Ford Escapes and C-Max vehicles which are being recalled because of seat back frames that were not properly welded.
The consequences associated with using defective vehicles may potentially cause you financial, physical, and emotional harm.
