The Detroit Free Press recently reported that GM is recalling another 8.4 million vehicles in North America mostly for ignition switch defects. This latest round of recalls brings the total for the year to 28.9 million vehicles. Apparently that is more vehicles than GM has sold in the past three years combined.
GM estimates that recall expenses for the second quarter of this year could total 1.2 billion dollars.
